Director of Hospice

Cindy started with the VNA in December of 2019 for a second time; Cindy previously worked with the VNA on a PRN basis back in 2000-2005. Cindy started her nursing career in 1983 at Hanover General Hospital by working in a medical-surgical unit. She was promoted to Unit Coordinator of a medical-surgical/orthopedic unit in 2008. In 2012, she was promoted to the Nurse Manager of the unit. When Cindy left in 2019 from UPMC Hanover, she had provided a total of 35 years of nursing experience to their organization. In December 2019 when she came back to the VNA, she was the Hospice Clinical Manager. On January 1st of 2021, Cindy was promoted to the position of, Director of Hospice.

Cindy is responsible for the strategic plan and operational functions of our Hospice department which include quality and performance review, personnel management, referral source relations, and fiscal accountability.

Cindy received her BSN in nursing from York College of Pennsylvania in 1983. She also received her MBA in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University (WGU) in 2019. Cindy has been involved in her community by serving as the President of Northern York County Fire Rescue (NYCFR) for the past 7 years. She has been a member of the Celebration Community Church for the past 7 years. Cindy is also a Health Coach because she loves seeing others improve by becoming a healthier version of themselves.

Cindy has 6 children and 3 grandchildren. God is the center of her life, and she loves to share her positive energy by inspiring, and motivating others.  Cindy’s favorite pastime is to spend quality time with her family. She especially loves to travel with her children and her grandchildren on family vacations.
