Dr. Francis (Frank) Kilkelly, MD
Dr. Francis “Frank” Kilkelly and his wife, Annie, arrived in Hanover in 2001 following military service at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and a spine surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University. A graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Killkelly completed his orthopedic surgery training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center through the U.S. Army, which also supported his medical education.
He and Annie moved east to be closer to family in Alexandria, Virginia and Queens, New York. They raised six children in Hanover and are now proud grandparents to eight grandchildren.
Dr. Kilkelly practiced with Hanover Orthopaedic Associates from 2001–2012, followed by his transition to WellSpan Health, where he remains employed. His experience in both private practice and employed physician settings has provided him with broad insight into the challenges and realities facing healthcare employers, employees, and care delivery.
His connection to the VNA is both professional and personal. He has referred patients to the VNA for many years, but it was the compassionate, exceptional care his mother-in-law received after her stroke—and later the care provided to both of his parents while living in his home—that inspired him to seek a board role. His lived experience reinforces his strong belief in the VNA’s mission and his desire to contribute to its continued service to the community.
