Emily Berwager


Emily lives in Hanover with her husband Andrew and their two daughters.  She is VP of Talent at Campbell Snacks (formerly Snyder’s-Lance), where she has worked since 2008. Previously, Emily was employed by Erickson Retirement Communities in various HR and Talent Development leadership roles.


Oliver Hazan

Vice Chair

A native of France, Oliver lives in Carlisle with his family. He joined Cross-Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community in 2013 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, overseeing a series of expansions and redefining the community's image.  


Ann Motter


Lives in Penn Township with her husband Perry. They have two grown daughters and four grandchildren. Ann is also a Hospice Volunteer for the VNA as well as a volunteer for Precious Paws Therapy Dogs. She retired after 33 years from Homewood at Plum Creek.


Jennifer A. Leib


Jennifer is the VP and ASU Senior Administrator for Wilmington Trust and is a Certified Financial Planner. She is the Secretary of the VNA Endowment Board. Jennifer is a member of the Friends of the Library, Hanover. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Penn State University.

Ashley M. Hershey

Asst. Treasurer

Ashley lives in New Oxford with her husband Cassidy.  She is a supervisor at RLH CPAs & Business Advisors  where she began her public accounting career in 2012 as an intern.  Ashley is a graduate of Shippensburg University where she also obtained her M.B.A. 

Alan Cashman

Alan lives in Hanover with his wife. He has two grown children (both graduated from Hanover schools). Alan is a retired attorney and practiced law in Hanover from 1972 to 2013. He graduated from Dickinson School of Law in 1972. Alan is a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.


Carol Freer, M.D.

Dr. Carol Freer is a board certified physician with more then 35 years of experience in internal medicine and infectious diseases. She currently serves as Associate Professor of Medicine with clinical and teaching responsibilities at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Most recently, Dr Freer served as Chief Medical Officer for Penn State Hershey. Prior to joining Penn State Hershey, Dr Freer served 12 years as Vice President for Medical Affairs and Hospital Epidemiologist at Hanover Hospital.

Dwain Smith

Dwain Smith

Dwain lives in Hanover with his wife Susan. He is the owner of Smith & Co. CPAs. Dwain is a member of the Hanover Lions Club and serves on the Finance Committee of Delone Catholic High School.


J. Steven Harner

Steve lives in Hanover with his wife, Diana. He has two grown children and seven grand-children. Steve retired from M & T Bank in 2012 as a VP in Professional and Business Banking.  He served 40 years in the Hanover and south central PA communities in banking.

Jim Helt

Jim lives in Hanover with his wife, Lisa, and their two daughters, Courtney and Morgan.  He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ACNB Corporation, a financial holding company headquartered in Gettysburg, and its wholly-owned subsidiary, ACNB Bank.  Jim began his banking career 28 years ago with a small community bank in Hanover, and has concentrated his work on supporting his community.  He currently serves on the board of directors at Hanover HealthCare Plus and UPMC Pinnacle Hanover and Guthrie Memorial Library.  Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Finance from Elizabethtown College.  

Kay Jones

Kay Jones

Kay lives in New Oxford with her husband Gene. They have five adult children, eight grandchildren, and two great granddaughters.  She retired from Cross Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community with 27 years of service in public and community relations and more recently from Conewago Valley School District in community relations.  


Tammy Miller

Tammy lives in Spring Grove with her husband, and has served as the Executive Director of Windy Hill on the Campus (senior center) since 2006. She has two grown sons. She is a York County Community Foundation Fellow, and serves on their advisory council. She is also a board member of the PA Association of Senior Centers and the Spring Grove Area Chamber of Commerce.


Patricia Saunders

Pat, the Chief Nursing Officer at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover, recently retired after 11 years of service.  She is the proud mother of five children, eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.  Pat is a Board member of TrueNorth Wellness Services and the University of Maryland Saint Joseph Medical Center Auxiliary.


Rev. Steven Thomas

Pastor Steve was born and raised in Houston, TX. He is married to Rev. LaDonna Thomas. Their daughter, Rebekah, is a student at Luther Seminary in Minneapolis. He serves as the Pastor at Bartholomew’s United Church (ELCA), Hanover. Pastor Steve received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from The Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg
