Jennifer Shimkonis
Bringing a wealth of nursing leadership experience to the VNA, Jennifer joined our team in May 2022. Hailing from the Southern Tier of New York State, Jennifer's journey in nursing began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State University College at Brockport. She later pursued a master’s degree in nursing administration at St. John's College in Rochester, NY, further enriching her knowledge and expertise in healthcare management.
In 1994, Jennifer and her family made the pivotal decision to relocate to Hanover, PA, where she commenced her tenure at Hanover Hospital as a nurse manager. For 24 years, Jennifer held various leadership roles at Hanover Hospital, demonstrating her exceptional leadership skills and dedication to nursing excellence. From spearheading successful projects and programs to serving as the Director of Medical-Surgical Nursing for a decade, Jennifer's contributions left an indelible mark on the organization.
Before joining the VNA, Jennifer spent a year with WellSpan Health, where she played a crucial role as an RN Clinical Vaccinator, providing COVID vaccinations and testing across Adams and York counties. Her commitment to community health and patient care has been unwavering throughout her career.
Jennifer resides in Hanover with her husband, Steve. They have two adult sons, Scott, and Seth. Outside of her professional endeavors, she finds joy in nurturing her garden and staying active through activities like walking, hiking, and participating in YMCA programs.
With her extensive leadership experience and passion for nursing excellence, Jennifer is poised to make a significant impact on the VNA community, embodying the spirit of compassionate care and dedication to service.
