Joni Griffin, RN
Chief Clinical Officer, Home Health and Home Care Plus
Joni has been employed with the VNA since 1982 and home care is her passion. She decided while in nursing school in 1973, during her community health rotation, that home health was where she wanted to focus her work life. Despite the challenges and many changes that she has witnessed,
Joni has never wavered in her belief that providing care to individuals in their own home is a privilege and is the best career path for nurses who want to make a difference in their patients’ lives. Joni’s passion is getting new/younger nurses to see that and to make home care their career choice. Joni began her nursing career at Hanover Hospital and worked there for seven years prior to her tenure with the VNA. Her expertise, passion, and commitment has allowed the VNA’s Home Health and Home Care Plus service lines to continue delivering quality patient results and growing the agency’s business.
Joni is married and has three sons, two of which are married and have wonderful wives and reside outside of the area. She also has five grandchildren who range in age from 18 months to 16 years who give her joy and purpose. Joni feels she does not get to spend near enough time with them but they are never far from her thoughts.
Outside of work, Joni also spends a great deal of time providing care and support for her aging parents.
Joni states: “I have a full and hectic life and thank God every day that I am healthy and able to manage multiple commitments with relative sanity.”
