Doug Beacham
Doug has been an invaluable member of the team since June 2007. His journey in finance within the healthcare sector began in 1994 when he assumed responsibility for the financial activities of Granada Nursing Home in Baltimore City. This early experience laid the foundation for a distinguished career path that led him through various roles within the industry.
After a successful stint with Healthcare & Retirement Corporation, which later merged with ManorCare, Doug was promoted to a regional corporate position overseeing business offices in Baltimore and Delaware. His strategic financial acumen and leadership skills have been instrumental in ensuring the financial health and stability of healthcare facilities under his purview.
Doug's roots trace back to Uniontown, Maryland, a quaint Civil War town nestled in northern Carroll County. He pursued his education at Westminster Vo-Tech during high school, where his passion for computer programming was ignited. Following graduation, Doug enrolled at Essex Community College before transferring to UMBC, where he pursued a degree in computer science.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Doug's interests are as diverse as his career. Growing up, he was immersed in the equestrian world, riding horses, and competing in local horse shows as a member of the Carroll County 4H club. In 2001, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by purchasing a farm outside Littlestown, where he bred, raised, and trained Hanoverians, a German breed primarily used for dressage.
In his leisure time, Doug finds solace in the company of his family, exploring state parks with his beloved dogs, and tackling home renovation projects.
With his unwavering dedication to financial stewardship and his diverse array of interests, Doug embodies the spirit of innovation and excellence at the VNA.
